After the launch of the Realme 2, the company has launched an upgraded version of it in the form of the Realme 2 Pro. Realme is an emerging smartphone brand that specializes in providing high quality smartphones for the youth. The exquisite design and technology caters to the open, stylish and diverse lifestyles of youth. The brand has announced the launch of its third product – Realme 2 Pro on September 27.
The Realme 1 won wide recognition for its “Power” and “Style” immediately after the launch in India in May 2018. It soared to the 4th position in India’s online smartphone market in Q2 by virtue of its monthly sales volume. Realme 1’s powerful performance was followed by Realme 2 scoring a new record with 2 Lacs unit sales within 5 minutes.
The Realme 2 Pro smartphone has been launched in three variants. In terms of storage, there are three options for buyers. The base variant offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and costs Rs 13,990. The second variant that offers 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 15,990. The highest configuration on which the Realme 2 Pro can be purchased is 8GB RAM paired with 128GB internal storage, which is priced at Rs 17,990. The handset is a Flipkart-exclusive device and will be available starting October 11.
Realme 2 Pro is a delight to use. the UI here is also simple and easy to navigate through and the smartphone doesn’t come bundled with bloatware. Users who don’t like to fiddle around too much with their phone would find it pleasing. The Snapdragon 660 processor and 8GB RAM make this phone capable of handling several tasks at once.
Gaming is a fluid experience on this phone with high-end games like PUBG Mobile running well at both medium and high settings. The Realme Game Space works around its charm with its Graphics Acceleration and No Disturbance settings. Whenever you install a new game app, Game Space recognises and includes it for an optimized gaming experience. We didn’t encounter lags while playing through the battery drop is something to be expected while playing at high settings. Also, the smartphone got slightly heated up after over one hour of play.
Realme 2 Pro Camera: The phone features a 16MP AI-powered dual camera setup with an aperture of F1.7 and a front camera of 16MP with F2.0 aperture. So, both rear and front cameras are 16MP.
With the Portrait mode, you can choose from various lighting options like Natural Light, Film Light, Mono-Tone Light, RIM Light and Bi-Colour Light. The other modes that you can shoot in are Time Lapse, Photo, Video, Sticker, Pano and Expert. The Expert mode allows you to shoot in Ultra HD mode which you can turn on/off.
Outdoors, in bright sunlight and overcast conditions, both the rear and the front cameras gives clear and detailed shots with very less grain. The AI cameras detect faces well in selfie shots, even in low-light settings.
Display and Battery: Realme 2 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch(16cm) FHD+ full screen with 90.8 Percent screen-to-body ratio. The 6.3-inch TFT LCD display comes with a resolution of 1080x2340 and a pixel density of 409 PPI. The phone’s Auto Brightness feature works well indoors and we found the brightness to be sufficient when inside a well-lit room too.
The phone takes around one and a half hours for a complete charge. On light use, the battery lasts for more than a day. On heavy usage (gaming for around 2 hours, watching videos for about 1 hour, listening to music etc.), the battery lasts for 7-8 hours. If you are the type of user whose smartphone usage oscillates between light to heavy, the 3500mAh phone battery will see you through one day easily. During charging, the smartphone rear heats up a little.
Realme 2 Pro Storage: Realme 2 Pro is certainly the ‘pro’ model from Realme so far. Under Rs 20K, it gives you 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 660 processor and 128GB native storage. Compared to Realme 2, this smartphone (8GB+128GB variant) is a considerable improvement with good performance in almost all departments.
Network and Connectivity: The bottom edge of the phone carries the speaker vents, a micro-USB port for charging (not Type-C), the microphone and a 3.5mm audio jack. The back of the phone comes with a glass back and houses the dual cameras with the LED flash, a fingerprint sensor and the ‘realme’ logo.
On the left side of the phone lie the dual-SIM card slot (with a dedicated microSD card slot) and the volume buttons while the right side has got the power button. The phone dimensions are 156.7 × 74.0 × 8.5mm and it weighs 174g. It is quite sturdy, slightly on the heavier side and yet comfortable to hold with one hand....Read more
