NEW DELHI: The wait is finally over for OnePlus 6T's India fans. The Chinese smartphone brand finally launched OnePlus 6T, its second flagship of the year 2018, in India today. The company held an event at at the KDJW Stadium, inside Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi. India is one of the key markets for OnePlus. The company, which launched its first smartphone in India in 2014, leads the Indian premium smartphone market. According to latest data from Counterpoint Research, OnePlus is ahead of Samsung and Apple in the country's premium mobile market (smartphones priced above Rs 30,000). Little doubt then that the company's co-founder Pete Lau thanked OnePlus users in India during OnePlus 6T's unveiling event in the US.

OnePlus 6T comes in three options based on RAM and storage capacity: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The smartphone is already available for pre-orders in India on Amazon India's website. As for the pricing, the new OnePlus 6T prices are as below:

* OnePlus 6T 6GB/128GB: Rs 37,999

* OnePlus 6T 8GB/128GB: 41,999
* OnePlus 6T 8GB/256GB: 45,999


OnePlus 6T specifications
On specifications front, OnePlus 6T runs on Qualcomm's top-end processor Snapdragon 845, same as its predecessor OnePlus 6. The smartphone has a slightly bigger 6.41-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2340x1080 (402ppi) and 19.5:9 aspect ratio protected by Corning Glass Gorilla 6. OnePlus 6T features a water-drop notch on display, which is slightly smaller than that of OnePlus 6's notch. The dual-SIM (nano) smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie based OxygenOS out of the box.

A key highlight of the smartphone is the in-display fingerprint sensor that the company calls 'ScreenUnlock'. It not only unlocks the smartphone but can also be used as shortcut to launch apps. Like OnePlus 6, users also get Face Unlock feature.

OnePlus has also bid goodbye to 64GB storage model, with the base model boasting of 128GB storage. OnePlus has also introduced what it calls ‘Boost Mode’ with 6T. This the company claims will helpusers to launch apps almost 20% faster.

On camera front too, the specifications are same as that of OnePlus 6. However, the company claims it has made changes on software front, including improving low-light photography capabilities of the device. The company claims to have improved the night shot, portrait and selfie performance of the OnePlus 6T.

Camera specs include a 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor with EIS and f/2.0 aperture. There is 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor with OIS, EIS and f/1.7 aperture along with a 20MP Sony IMX376K sensor with f/1.7 aperture and Dual LED flash at the back. The smartphone can record from 4K videos at 60fps to 720p video at 480fps.


This time the handset is backed by a larger 3700mAh battery, which the company claims will offer 23% better battery life than OnePlus 6T. For connectivity, users will get NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, aptX and aptX HD support, GPS and Glonass.


OnePlus 6T availability and offers

From November 2 2018 onwards, the OnePlus 6T will be available on all online and offline channels including Amazon.in, oneplus.in, Croma stores, Reliance Digital outlets and all OnePlus exclusive offline stores with Rs 1,500 cashback on credit and debit cards of major banks. Rs 1,000 extra cashback as Amazon Pay balance on prepaid orders between 1-5 November 2018.


Reliance Jio and OnePlus too have joined hands to offer Jio-OnePlus 6T 'Unlock The Speed Offer' that gives users an instant cashback of Rs 5,400 in vouchers on the first prepaid recharge of Rs 299 on www.jio.com, Reliance Digital stores, MyJio Stores, Jio retailers and the MyJio app. Those availing the offer will get the cashback in the form of 36 vouchers worth Rs 150 each in the MyJio app. The plan will entitle them to 3GB 4G data per day with unlimited voice calls, SMS and access to Jio’s premium applications. Effectively, the offer will bring a total of 3TB of 4G data to the users over 36 recharges.
